From this organization later sprang the monastic Order of Ursulines.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>1936<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"img img--R img--sm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.st-ursula.ac.jp\/high\/wp-content\/themes\/ursula\/assets\/img\/international\/history-1936.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"our history on 1936\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p>Three nuns came to Japan and established places of prayer and learning.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>1941<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"img img--R img--sm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.st-ursula.ac.jp\/high\/wp-content\/themes\/ursula\/assets\/img\/international\/history-1941.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"our history on 1941\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p>Azuma Kindergarten, the first of the Ursuline Schools in Sendai, Japan, was founded.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>1950<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"img img--R img--sm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.st-ursula.ac.jp\/high\/wp-content\/themes\/ursula\/assets\/img\/international\/history-1950.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"our history on 1950\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p>St. Ursula Elementary School was founded.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>1956<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"img img--R img--sm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.st-ursula.ac.jp\/high\/wp-content\/themes\/ursula\/assets\/img\/international\/history-1956.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"our history on 1956\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p>St. Ursula Junior High School for girls was founded.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>1959<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"img img--R img--sm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.st-ursula.ac.jp\/high\/wp-content\/themes\/ursula\/assets\/img\/international\/history-1959.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"our history on 1959\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p>St. Ursula Senior High School for girls was founded.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>2003<\/dt>\n<dd>\n                   The two-course system began with one course focusing on academic distinction and the other on athletic and aesthetic excellence.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>2004<\/dt>\n<dd>\n                   To improve academic performance, the schools integrated the elementary and junior high curriculums.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>2005<\/dt>\n<dd>\n                   The schools began coeducation and were renamed St. Ursula Eichi Elementary and Junior High School and St. Ursula Eichi High School. <em>Eichi<\/em>, meaning <em>wisdom<\/em>, was added to represent the strong belief in educational value.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dt>2013<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<div class=\"img img--R img--sm\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.st-ursula.ac.jp\/high\/wp-content\/themes\/ursula\/assets\/img\/international\/history-2013.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"our history on 2013\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p>A new school building for the elementary and junior high school and the high school was constructed on the high school campus.\n                <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"schoolguideHistory\"><\/ul>\n<p class=\"lg tCenter\">&#8220;Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Especially, the study of English, Sendai feudal clan manners, and club activities (at national level) are the center of this course, and the students learn about the skills and attitudes required to become members of society.
